Wow, Wow, Wow. OK. First, to have a name Dr. Bonk. What a great name. Wouldn’t you like to have that one?  I’m sure he’s heard all the puns but it is a cool name.

My daughter told me long ago that the only reason you go to school is for the teacher to keep you on track to learn and to get a piece of paper! That is why teachers are here. Then I went to hear Dr. Bonk and he is really saying the same thing. Have you heard of Adora Svitak? Look her up. OK, I’ll make it easy. Adora Svitak using an interactive board to teach teachers!

Here it is again. Dr. Bonk spoke about all the free academia out there from open source courses to open source e-books that will ready to you1 I’m going to have to get out my notes to talk about these talks I attended.  I couldn’t possibly write it all down but he gave us a link to the PP show he used and some of his resources. Hmmmmm.  Should I share?  Of course, here is one that I’m going to share with my students. freerice.com. For every vocabulary-synonym match, 10 grains of rice are donated through the World Food Programme.  Isn’t that the coolest thing every?

Did you know there are free online books? That is the next thing I’m going to look into. I went to one and you have to download an e-reader and they only had it for PC. I know my MAC will do PC but it’s still a foreign language.

I was going to try out socialeyes.com, but it is through Facebook and wants to access all my stuff at any time whether I have it open or not. I’m not into that much. Yea, Yea, I know. If they really wanted it they could get it but I don’t want to make it easy!

As I find more OPEN SOURCE, FREE stuff, I’ll send it out.
